![]() Close Cooperation of the River Lech Power Plant Association and the Augsburger Domsingknaben Dr. Theo Waigel, the former German Minister of Finance, describes the Augsburger Domsingknaben as "Singing Ambassadors of Augsburg and Swabia", taking our regional message all over the world. Presenting a sponsoring contract concluded with the River Lech Power Plants (LEW) and the Augsburger Domsingknaben at the LEW Customer Forum in Augsburg, Waigel, himself a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Fund of Friends and Supporters of the Augsburger Domsingknaben, praised the "great and magnificent commitment" of Swabia's largest supplier of energy to cultural affairs. Signing a sponsorship agreement in early April, the LEW Power Plants have taken on the task of supporting the Augsburger Domsingknaben in their musical work. This cooperation will continue until 2006, LEW not only granting financial support but also offering advertising assistance and promotion among their customers: All holders of an LEW Customer Card, for example, receive a 10 percent discount on all concerts organised by the Augsburger Domsingknaben.
At the press conference in the LEW Customer Forum, former Minister of Finance Dr. Theo Waigel, LEW Board Member Paul Waning, and Domkapellmeister Reinhard Kammler proudly presented LEW's current range of sponsorship activities. In this context Paul Waning emphasised the great image and reputation enjoyed by the Augsburger Domsingknaben the world over, stating in particular that LEW was very happy to support the Domsingknaben because of their positive acceptance and reputation. Within its range of sponsorship activities, the River Lech Power Plant Association supports outstanding achievements in the areas of culture, sports, social affairs, and the environment. Reinhard Kammler expressed his sincere thanks to the managers of LEW for their commitment and the confidence they were giving the Augsburger Domsingknaben over such a long period, emphasising that he would make every effort to repay this service through musical performance whenever and wherever appropriate. He also took the opportunity to thank Dr.Theo Waigel, a most prominent member of the Board of Trustees, for his significant and highly efficient support of the Choir. And last but certainly not least, he thanked Anton Fuchs, his Manager of Cultural Affairs, for having established such positive contacts with the LEW. |
